The Wind
Monitor is a high performance, rugged wind sensor. Its simplicity and corrosion-resistant
construction make it ideal for a wide range of wind measuring applications
The wind speed sensor is a four
blade helicoid propeller. Propeller rotation produces an AC sine wave voltage signal with
frequency directly proportional to wind speed. Slip rings and brushes are eliminated for
increased reliability.
The wind direction sensor is a rugged yet lightweight vane with a
sufficiently low aspect ratio to assure good fidelity in fluctuating wind conditions. Vane
angle is sensed by a precision potentiometer housed in a sealed chambler. With a known
excitation voltage applied to the potentiometer, the output voltage is directly
proportional to vane angle. A mounting orientation ring assures correct realignment of the
wind direction reference when the instrument is removed for maintenance.
The instrument is made of UV stabilized plastic with stainless steel and
anodized aluminum fittings. Precision grade, stainless steel ball bearings are used.
Transient protection and cable terminations are in a convenient junction box. The
instrument mounts on standard 1 inch pipe. |

The new
Wind Tracker wind speed and wind direction indicator offers big performance in a compact
display.
Developed from our
original 36 Point Wind Tracker, the new Wind Tracker offers many features that
make
it far more versatile than then original.
Wind speed is displayed in your choice of units: KNOTS, MPH, KM/H, M/S.
Maximum wind speed is saved on the display until reset by the operator.
Wind direction information is clearly displayed on a circular compass
pattern of LEDs. Moulticolored segments give a quick visual indication of current
direction and direction variability. Front panel brightness control allows adjustment for
best viewing in any light.
A variety of inputs and outputs including 4-20 mA, Serial(RS-485), and
Voltage are standard on the Wind Tracker. Alarms of both wind speed and wind direction are
standard.
The Wind Tracker is very compact. Face size us 144 mm x 144 mm to fit
standard DIN panel configurations. Depth is 36 mm for easy mounting on vertical bulkheads
or wall surfaces. 12-30 VDC power enables the Wind Tracker to be powered by external
batteries or AC wall adapter(included). |

The Gill Multi-Plate Radiation
Shield protects temperature and relative humidity sensors from error-producing solar
radiation and precipitation. Compact size and light weight make this shield useful for
many applications.
The multiple discs have
a unique profile that blocks direct and reflected solar radiation, yet permits easy
passage of air. The disc material is specially formulated for high reflectivley; low
thermal conductivity, and maximum weather resistance. The rugged U-bolt mounting clamp
attaches easily to any vertical pipe up to 2 diameter.
The Model 41002P employs a universal adapter to securely hold sensors up
to 10 mm diameter. The Model 41002P uses a special mounting adapter that can be custom
sized to fit any sensor from 10 mm to 26 mm; specify the diameter when ordering.
The Temperature Probe is a 1000 Platinum RTD encased in a stainless steel protective sheath. The
sensing element is securely mounted in a convenient junction box that fits in radiation
shields. For special applications, the temperature probe is available with various output
options. The 4-20 mA current output is useful in high noise, industrial settings or for
long cable lengths. The 0-1 VDC option provides a calibrated voltage output signal. Low
power circuitry makes it ideal for field studies and remote data-logging applications.
The Relative Humidity/Temperature Probe combines a high accuracy
humidity sensor and a 1000
Platinum RTD. Available with 0-1 VDC or 4-20 mA outputs, sensors are mounted in a common
junction box. |

The 26700 series Programmable Translator
offers a new level of capablility in meteorological sensor monitoring.
This microprocessor-based display and data
collection device has the features and flexibility to perform many monitoring tasks. From
simple display of one variable to multi-sensor datalogging and serial data transmission,
the 26700 Programmable Translator can satisfy your measurement needs.
High Resolution Display
The 26700 display is a high contrast, illuminated, alphanumeric L.C.D. Measured data can
be displayed in any format that suits the application. Display text is easily customized
using the front panel keypad; ten different screens are available.
Data Storage
Built-in memory lets you log up to 24000 data pionts in real time. Data can be retrieved
at any time, communicated to another device such as a personal computer, or output on a
dot matrix printer. These capabilities make the 26700 a perfect choice for many network
systems.
Wide Selection of Inputs
The 26700 translator accommodates up to 5 specially designed sensor interface modules.
Inputs for wind, temperature, precipitation, humidity, and other sensors are connected to
the appropriate module and initialized by selecting a command with the front keypad.
Programming is simplified by featuring many special functions such as average, standard
deviation, maximum, minimum, sine and cosine. UVW corrections and others. The 26700 is
compatible with all YOUNG other sensors.
Special Output Functions
Many output options are available for the 26700. The base unit has a standard RS-232 for
serial communication via cable, modem or radio transmitter. Special modules are available
for Voltage and Current outputs. The Alarm/Relay module provides 4 dry contact swithes
which can be programmed from the keypad. The Printer Interface module enables the 26700 to
output directly to a conventional dot-matrix printer. |
